OBJECTIVES

In Orissa State, Food Corporation of India is entrusted with the task of procurement of levy rice, direct purchase of paddy from farmer under effective presence in the market for extending Minimum Support Price &  Scientific Storage of foodgrains and supply of foodgrains to State Government under various Scheme against allocation made by Govt. of India.  The work of proper distribution of foodgrains with effective and realistic movement planning with minimum losses.  The main fuctioning of FCI in the State is procurement of rice under levy, direct purchase of paddy by opening D.P.C and through NCMSL/Other agency, Storage, Movement of rice stocks from surplus areas to deficit pocket, Distribution of essential commodities viz rice & wheat under various schemes etc.
